Problem with recognizing content usb drive

Post by servee »

Hi,
I have been using the fantom G 8 for years now but encountered a big problem: all my usb drives are "empty"according to the fantom G. I can't load any project from the usb anymore, just the internal project. And the same usb drives worked perfectly up until now. Factory reset doesn't make any difference. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Ooo nasty! What happens if you try and format a USB drive on the fantom? (Remember to back up your projects first!!)

The Fantom does that - at least it appears so. After I put a project from my computer on the drive, same problem occurs, according to the Fanto it is empty

And if you reset the Fantom format the drive on the Fantom, then create a new project using the Fantom (not the computer) can the Fantom see the project that the Fantom has created? i.e:

Do a Factory reset
Format the USB drive with the Fantom (Not the computer)
Create a new Project with the Fantom on the USB drive (Not an internal project)
Create a new song with a couple of Bars
Save Song
Power off the Fantom
Power up.
Does the project load. Can you see the song?

If not it is starting to look like a hardware problem

Thank you Steve. My Fantom is going to Roland today (I 've contacted them already) because indeed, it looks like a hardware problem to me too. I'll let you know, Thank you for your interest en response!
