sync samples to tempo

I apologize for my ignorance, and i'm not sure of the right terms. Here is my situation.
I have several samples that are beats and other sounds that may go for a few seconds and are related to each other. i need to be able to trigger them from the pads so that, for instance, i have a beat going on pad 1, and pad 2 is a vocal sample which should always start on the next beat 1 of the measure when triggered, playing along with Pad1 (not instead of). how do i accomplish that?

Assign the samples to phrases and the phrases to the pads (rps)... Set trigger for rps to measure. Note that the song should play. Make some empty measures and loop these... Should be in the manual also.
