Interesting, not sure if I actually have a use for it for myself (at the moment anyway) but it may be pretty useful for others.
Thanks for sharing!

Someone on fantom X forum asked for some further info and spec so here they are which are the same for the fantom G version.

As with the video, the upgrade is self intuitive
Everything is recorded as midi in Mixer/Performance mode.

You have a total of 13 slots as follows...

Backing group:
1 Bass pad-1
1 Drums pad-10
1 Chord/Arp-Pad 4

Lead/Song Group:
4 Lead slots pads 5-8 (solo lead part single instrument)
(5 6 7 used in video)

6 Layered/solo parts pads 2 3 13 14 15 16: these parts can be layered or solo
(2 3 13 used in video)

To get started as follows...

1) Load project
2) press record/play
3) tap/select a pad/group instrument

and your ready to play/perform as shown in the video

Nothing to it realy....

Its all about how you feel
Some people start with a beat.. and start getting a feel from there
some are Bass poeple, others prefer chord/pads or lead..

Its just the same as building a regular song except wtih NewLife you can do it all in a real-time performance so you never have to Start/Stop edit when your in the zone you just keep going until your happy or filled all available slots.

Over the Years alot of people have said they would like to just switch on their fantom and not have to use any of their heavly loaded computer gear, and thats what this intends to replace.. tp give you ease of production right at your finger tips without the need for external hardware/computer sequencer etc..

The likes of Ableton live which this is based around.. you would normally need an external controller like launchpad/Push and a laptop or computer and then hook all that up to your Fantom..
all that before you even start.

But.. Now with NewLife all you need is to boot your Fantom, and all that power is now right at your finger tips where you can start letting those ideas flow the moment your fingers touch the keys.

Is there any way to use this to quickly create clips in ableton via midi? What I mean is can I use this (the pads) to control clips in ableton? It would be so quick to assign the pads to clips in ableton and record an instrument on each clip and be able to play it back

If you mean to use the pads like controler. yes its possible but then you gong in the opposite direction as to what NewLife is intended.. which is to take away the need to use ableton.

However if your looking to export the entire performance loop from the Fantom to ableton, that too is possible.
