Boot time Fantom X vs. G
Boot time Fantom X vs. G
I'm more and more disappointed with the long boot time of my X. Q: Is the sample loading time significant faster on the G?
Re: Boot time Fantom X vs. G
My X7 takes about 20 seconds to boot up, including 4 SRX cards.
With a full card of samples it takes 45 minutes! Needless to say, I don't do a lot of sampling...

Re: Boot time Fantom X vs. G
I would like to know how much faster is the Fantom G compared to the X ;-)
Re: Boot time Fantom X vs. G
In general the G takes seconds rather than minutes to load and everything else is also faster on the G.

@Quinnx
I used to do a lot of pro sequencing on an
XP 60 ASR10 and a Mofat Turbo.
Still have the Turbo ..is the Fantom G quick to load even 3 to 6 minutes of Guitar on Audio Tracks etc ?
Can Patterns from one song still be transferred onto the Current Song- say patterns 30 thru 39 to current Song Patterns 40 thru 49 etc?
Are there still up to 20 or 30 RPS assignable to Keys ?
I used to use a few patterns as a sys ex librarian to record the whole setup midi channels and Patches, Midi Channels etc.
EFX etc.
Can Fantom G record Midi Sys Ex Data ?
So you recommend Fantom G over X for recording Guitar Tracks into sequences then ?

Re: Boot time Fantom X vs. G
Fantom G works based on project folders..
as long as the current song is stored in the same project folder.. all previous patterns are always available and assignable at any time.
G also allows you to record and playback sysex using rps
Guitar sequencing..
you can generally do as much with the x and as you can with the G
However the G makes it easier.
