Integra sounds and Fantom g

Post by unixmill »

Hello Gang!
I have been using Integra for a while. I love the sounds!
I saw someone playing Fantom g in a live show and everything sounded so shiny!
So I am thinking of adding Fantom g6 to my studio.
I have a Kronos x and motif xf as well. Always wanted to get a Fantom but I felt Integra was good enough for all Roland sounds.
Will it be redundant to buy a Fantom g6 to work with Integra ?

any feedback appreciated
Thx

I have both.

I would say that if you want to get the Fantom G JUST for the sounds then yes, it's a bit redundant.
It has some "fantom g exclusive" patches but most of the stuff is present on the integra.

the integra kinda has an advantage over the g in that it has as many sounds as you will ever need.

The G on the other hand IS a workstation with and added Sampler which can be very powerfull and adds a different dimension to the whole sound creation part of the equation.

Ok.. it dont have supernatural. but ignoring that part, sound creation is almost limitless with the G and its sampler.

theres nothing wrong with adding the G as part of the integra setup, I have often though about adding the integra to my G, but only at the right price, so realy the choice is yours.

Thank you for your feedback , much appreciated.
I found a g8 for 2000cdn. I like Keybed since I m not a piano player, I may end up hating it after a while.
G6 seems cheap plastic but I may grow into it either one.
G8 seems so huge.
What is your recommendations around price and Keybed g6 vs g8

And how about a new FA for the above price range ? Seems attractive as well.
Too many options very confusing

Believe me .. you dont want the FA if you already have the Integra
and the choice between FA or G,.

Always! get the G

The only difference is obviously the keys and the sides. I used to own the G7, built like a tank not cheap looking at all. However, although I have never owned one the roland fa synths, they look cheap and look as though they are make of rubbish plastic. All that black shiny surface not good. Though it's all personal taste.

thank you for your feedback, much appreciated.

The Fantom G is an overall well built and well thought out and good looking instrument, I will never sell mine. But if you need a playable aftertouch on the keys get the G6 or G7 or start exercising your fingers.
