Import samples.

Post by BlackMaskAttacks »

I have loaded down some samples on my USB from internet. Some samples of thunder storms and rain.
Something I want to use in one of my songs.
The problem is that I cant find the sample when I put the USB to the fantom.
I have saved the samples in the SMPL folder in my project.

Is there something I´m doing wrong here?

You need to use the IMPORT Audio function first. press the menu button and the IMPORT audio option should appear.

It says "cannot find file" when I´m trying to import but I think I know whats wrong. It´s a n MP3 file. I don´t think the Fantom can take MP3.

You're dead right, the Fantom can't take an MP3. Samples must be 16 bit/44.1 khz mono or stereo wav files (not sure if it takes aiffs, I don't think it does).

I have converted the files to wav. I still can´t find them. I have them on the SMPL folder on my project.
The only samples i can find when I try on the Fantom is the ones that come with the machine.
All the little voices and that stuff.

You must place your samples in the IMPORT folder, not the SMPL folder.

Do I need the Fantom editor? On the video Ed have connected the Fantom to the computer. I only have a portable USB. I can´t find any IMPORT folder in my project.

It's at the root level of your USB drive, not in a Project folder.

If I remember correctly, the Fantom adds the folder when it formats a drive. Is it's not there, just make one yourself.
