HELP Fantom G System Exclusive Editing

Hi,

For all those who use the G to sequence/control external MIDI gear.

Is there a way to record and edit system exclusive data to control external hardware from the Fantom Gs sequencer(and possibly controls) using Device IDs 1-16? As all my equipment has only those numbers available for Device ID.

The manuals says:

"Device ID (Device ID Number)When you want to transmit or receive System Exclusive messages, set this parameter to match the Device ID number of the other MIDI device.Value: 17–32"

Is this a going to be a problem, or is there a way round it? How do you do it?

Short answer:

Sequencer, yes
Controls, no

The manuals says:

"Device ID (Device ID Number)When you want to transmit or receive System Exclusive messages, set this parameter to match the Device ID number of the other MIDI device.Value: 17–32"

The manual is referring to the Fantom-G’s own Device ID. This is only meaningful if you are trying to control a second Fantom-G from yours.
