Arpeggiator and hold pedal

Post by gcoudert67 »

Hi! Does anybody know how to prevent the arpeggiator from responding to hold pedal messages? It stops every time I release the hold pedal!

My Performance is set up like this:
Arpeggiator assigned to part 2 and arp hold button on
Part 1: piano patch (sustain required from hold pedal) - range up to Eb7
Part 2: sound for arpeggio - hold receive off - range E7 to E7 (single note)
I start the drums from a pad (no prob), start the sequence from key E7 (no prob). Then I play the piano as, as soon as I use the hold pedal, the arpeggio stops when I release it.

I am not sure what to do as I cannot find a setting that links the hold pedal to the arpeggiator. I also need a way to stop the arpeggio when I want to and re-start it. What do you suggest? I could resort to song mode sequencing but I like the idea of starting and stopping the arp when I feel like it.

Thanks.

Not sure about the arpeggiator.

But I'm wondering why you don't assign a phrase=pattern (which holds this ARP measures) to a key or pad. And use the loop options then ?

I'll try to duplicate this tonight.
I must admit that it appears to make no sense.

Press LAYER/SPLIT button
Press "Ctrl Setting" (F4)
Press "Ctlr Switch" (F7)

On top of the 4th column is says "Hold". (This is where the magic happen!)

Uncheck any part and it will stop responding to the hold pedal.

Ok, found something...

The mmc "STOP" button could be used to stop the arpeggiator, very useful if you disabled the hold pedal.

(Coffee is magic!)
