TVF Env - very limited it seems ??!!

Post by guitar-player »

I try to work with the TVF env and the results are very unsatisfying. Am I doing something wrong?

I give an example:
Lets choose PR-D: 106 JP strings. I go to patch edit, choose only tone 1, then go tho TVF and change the cutoff frequenzy from 0-127. Everything fine, a wide range of sound change appears- I can even disappear the sound when I use the filter fully.
Now lets say I take a medium value. I go to TVF env to have an sound change while pressing the key. If I want full frequenzy first and then make the sound almost dissapper by applying the filters with TVF env its just not possible. I set the values between 1 and 127 but the sound changes very little in a very limited frame.

Whats going on??

Can someone explain me?

Maybe you check your settings for Velocity-Sens and env-depth (pgs. 70 ff in the german manual)
Hope I got you right...

***erroneous info editied out***

If you want negative modulation try the LFO's, in particular try the step LFO (with type 2 you get a versitile 16 step envelope). That should give you what you want
