song track to patterns HELP!!

O.K. Im having a real problem.I made a sequence in song mode,9 tracks.So i used "copy" to copy all my tracks 1-9 to pattern 1.They all copied, except track 5 will not play.In micro edit the notes are there but no sound.The same when i tried the exchange function.Even when i copied ONLY track 5,IT WOULD NOT PLAY!Why?
I then tried a workaround,copied tracks 2,3 out of the sequence to patterns 1,2...fine.Copied the rest of the tracks to a pattern,NOW ONLY 2 TRACKS PLAY OUT OF THE WHOLE SEQUENCE !All the notes are there in the pattern micro edit.But they will not play.What gives?I tried it on another sequence no prob..... HELP!!

Go to micro edit and look at the midi channel. Are they assigned correctly?

thanks whirl i found out that if the song track is muted,the corresponding part that is played by the pattern will not play. WOW!! But the song track will still play,if two tracks are playing the same part......i really had my brain around that one.
