JazzXR,

Here are two sysex commands that you can map to your Edirol:

Leslie brake:
F0 41 10 00 6B 12 10 00
0A 15 08 00 00 01 48 F7

Leslie rotate:
F0 41 10 00 6B 12 10 00
0A 15 08 00 00 00 49 F7

These will work only in performances that have a Leslie as the speaker. The Vibrato Type switches can also be written as single strings, but they will be very long. If I manage to export them I will post them here.

EDIT: There was a mistake in the cheksum of the leslie rotate. It is 49, NOT 48.

to smith570,

Which part it is the hardest to understand? Please be more specific, all the feedback will help me to make this emulation better & more user friendly. Is the problem that you cant make it work or you dont have an idea how to perform with it? You can start by telling me which Fantom model you have.

**

I should probably write a chapter in the readme how to actually play with this thing live. A video in the youtube would be the best way of showing, but I dont have a camera that can transfer video to PC.

Chapter X: Playing with the Emulation

Fantom Xa, X6, X7, X8, XR:

Technique 1: Using the Favorit list.

Select a performance you need to use.
Then in the Performance Layer/Split (Performance Play screen in XR) mode goto the Favorit performance list. Register the performance to the list.
Do this to all the performances you need.

If the song you are playing has a grand piano sound, organ sounds and string sound then your list could look like this:

Bank 1:
1. User XX. Grand piano
2. Card 12.MZB3 888+1' (organ)
3. Card 7. MZB3 Winwood (organ)
4. User XX. String orchestra
5. Card 18.MZB3 8888 #3 (organ)
6. Card 24.MZB3 Full (organ)
7. -
8. -

When the song progresses use the list to access the sound you currently need.

Fantom Xa tip: You can use the 8 Part/Track buttons to change the Performance. Just like the 8 buttons on a Roland VK-8!

Technique 2 with RPS coming soon...

Fantom Xa, X6, X7, X8:

Technique 2: Using the RPS controls.

Load the MZB3_V12.SVQ song file.

When the RPS light is on, keys C2 to B2 will change presets. These presets contain only the drawbar positions for a single manual, they wont have any effect on the organs vibrato, leslie or percussion settings.

When you press a preset key the screen will show the registration you have selected. "U 88 8888888", "L 80 8808008", "L 88 8888888" etc. To see the text you need be in Performance LAYER/SPLIT mode!

The first letter "U" or "L" tells you the manual (Upper or Lower). The 9 numbers following are the drawbar registration.

Hold down [SHIFT] and press [RPS]. This will take you to the RPS setup screen. Here you can change the preset keys.
Keys C2 to B2 are the preset keys by default. Select one of these keys and change the pattern that the key is assigned to. There are 50 of these patterns in this emulation, 25 for lower manual, 25 for upper manual. Select the sounds that you want use during a song.

Here is the list of patterns:

Well, part of my problem is I never learned all that much about how to use RPS, I think. I'm using an X8.

I've copied both folders to the CF Card, and only one file comes up as being able to load- the MZB3_V12.SVQ. Pressing the keys at this point gets me nothing but a very low, simple organ tone that is far from musical. When I hit the pads to try and change something via RPS, I don't get anything much better. What do I need to do, step by step, to make this actually sound like an organ?

This sounds like the card samples are not playing at all and all that you are hearing is the leak voice (internal wave). The .Svq should sound like an organ out of the box, so the problem cant be the RPS.

Have you loaded all the card samples?

Do the card Performances work?

You should check if the samples in the card are working, go to the sample edit screen and try to preview them.

Then check if the multisamples in the patch work. Any of the tones in patch 1 should sound if you put their TVA level up. And its multisamples should be setup like this:
Tone WG 1: 16'
Tone WG 2: 5 1/3'
Tone WG 3: 8'
Tone WG 4: 4'

You could re-install, just format the card and copy the emulation to it. Tell me if anything works.

Anyone with similar problems please report here.
