SRX CARDs and Quantize questions

Post by lekanut »

I would like to know if it's possible to have a list of the waveforms and presets of each srx card on the net...I think it's important to make a choice...
Another question:
Is there groove quantize templates like on the MC909 or XP80 in the sequencer?or not like the first fantom?
Is it possible to program a drum track on the sequencer with the pads or the pads are only dedicated to the sampler?
Thanks

Go to this page:

http://www.rolandus.com/products/subcat ... ubcatid=55

Select the board you want, click for details, support documents, SRX patchkit list.

You'll get a PDF file for that board.

Yes you can program drum tracks with the pads.

You can get plain text patch and waveform lists at ftp://ftp.roland.co.jp/pub/roland/japan/patch

By the way, I'm also interested - is there a Groove quantize with User templates in Fantom-S?

Well, that is a bit disappointing, if there's no Groove quantize. This is really stupid from Roland's side. I mean, this great feature was included in all Roland sequencers since 1996 (XP-80) - why did they throw it away?

I was always making expressive-sounding arpeggios with this function - and I have made many "personal" templates.

Are you *really* sure there's no Groove quantize? Only grid and shuffle?

Okay, anyway. I can manage things with micro edit.

By the way, is there a micro edit in Fantom-S? Not the linear edit with keyboard on the left - but that one that shows position-note-velocity-gate grid.

Thanks for your help.

What I said was "No groove quant. templates to my knowledge"

So show me how I was wrong with that statement since you know your equipment so well. Please show us where to navigate to in order to use this feature.

I stand corrected.

Ok I found it. You can use preset groove templates (71 in all)

Thanks Togetit

Noise, that's great.

But is there a function to create a custom groove template from a midi file? It should be like "load groove from midi file" etc.

There just HAS to be the ability to create user groove templates - all the previous Roland sequencers (XP-60/80, MC-80) have this feature.
