Hi everyone.
Finally decided to register to the forum because I have a question
I want to buy a second hand MC 808, but I've noticed that we can find Fantom S or Xa for a cheap price now.
Do you think buying a Fantom instead of the MC 808 would be a good idea ? (with a BCR2000 for real time controls)
I really don't know about the Fantom sound.
Thanks in advance.

Fantom S/X vs Mc 808
Re: Fantom S/X vs Mc 808
@ Akane
These are totlly different instruments! and it depends what you want to do.
The MC808 is a drummaschine/sampler (groovebox) and the Fantom S/Xa is a workstation/(synthesizer).
If you are working more pattern wise and doing more electronic music the MC808 will do but for more performances in other styles of music then the Fantom is the way.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply
I do electronic music, but not only. I'm guitarist and wish to explore several styles.
Is the Fantom good for pattern based music too ? If so, I'd prefer to have a workstation doing a bit less with electro and many more around.

i think fantom is better, if you're not TR recording chap... in 808 you'll need pc or mac to access full editing power
