Vintage MK I Rhodes E.Piano V2.0 - FanX

Post by Cesarsound »

After the success and several requests, I decided to revise and improve my MK I Rhodes E.Piano for Fantom X library. I've put a lot of efforts and knowledge in other keyboards to get a very realistic and playable E-Piano MK I. Below are the improvements:

-New samples and each sample was revised and corrected the looping / clicking issues.
-Corrected the key ranges and key root issues of multisamples.
-All the patches were reprogrammed, 16 organic and realistic patches are available now.

These patches are far best than the stock patches of Fantom X and, to my ears, they are superior to SRX12 Rhodes.

Just unzip the file (~14MB), copy the Roland folder to your CF Card, plug it on FanX, push SAVE/LOAD and then F7 and go to PATCH Mode or PIANO Mode. See the patches 1-16 on CARD area.

You can download it here (password jcr):

Any comments, let me know.

Cesarsound beg you keep at least you advise me? I can to my Roland Fantom X upload more than one set of samples? For example, your piano Yammi + B3? Thank you

grafikarabo, using the Fantom YASE software is possible to merge the libraries. You should find and buy it here:

Thank you so much CS for updating your patches. They were already my favourite and I have SRX-07 and SRX-12 already. They really do sound better than anything else i've got on my X8. Great job reworking them as well. It is nice to finally have access to the low register, this is where your patches really excel. The low end growl and rumble from your samples is much better than anything else in the SRX line up IMO.

I owe you huge! thanks again!

Hi ziggy73 and *MArk*,

Thanks for your comments, this is important to me, to continue with others projects.

MArk, the samples are dry, there is no effects on it at all.
All the EFX applied are from Fantom EFX section.
For example, on patch 001, I have applied only small amount of Reverb, on patch 002 I applied AutoPan.

So Cesarsound...let me tell you...your samples are amazing ...really...i had the chance in many years of music and studio recordings to ear some rodhes eand play them in studio...so I really know how a rodhes is supposed to sound :)
i have a few question...and sorry if i'm a little OT
i have a Fantom xr:

1) if i will buy the YASE software, is necessary to upgrade the rack with the roland sample tool?

2)Can I hear some sample of your B3 collection?

Mark, I do not have the Fantom XR, but as far as I know it is almost the same of Fantom X, so you should follow the same procedure to load the samples on Fantom XR. You need at least 128MB of DIMM memory placed on board. In this case you do not need the Yase, just load it as is.

I will upload a mp3 sound demo of B3 collection as soon as possible.

Cesar - sorry to bother you with this question - when i press the keys very hard in both my midi controller keyboards (Korg Sg pro X and Yamaha EX 7) , i get a vibrato effect in the Rhodes sounds, wich are loaded in my Fantom XR.

I guess this is not intended to happen. Do you know how can i avoid this? I suspect this is my controllers fault, but i don't know how to turn it off.

Thanks in advance, Pedro.
