Fantom X6 Fatal error, no program in Rom

Hi,
I have a problem with my Fantom X6. Its shows below message

"Fatal error, no program in Rom, call roland service or local dealer"!

Could some one help me to solve this problem.

If you have any SRX expansion cards, RAM expansion or Compact Flash card/boards inserted, try reseating them or even better removing them. If that doesn't help I think you'll need to do what the message says: call your Roland dealer to have it serviced.

It sounds like the firmware is corrupt or incomplete - did this happen after an update? I think the unit is saying that it can't find an operating system in the ROM from where it is loaded.

It did not happen after an update. The device has been not use for 8 months time. When I restart it and found this problem.

No idea, man. I'd seriously get in touch with your local Roland office.

ROM stands for "Read Only Memory". You will not be able to write or reload to this memory space. If you haven't done so already, do as suggested and remove any SRX cards, memory expansion, or compact flash cards and reboot. Any of these can corrupt the bootup process if they are defective.

"Fatal Error" in this case my indeed mean just that. Call your Roland support folks and see what they have to say. Good luck!

It may say 'ROM' on the error message but it's flash ROM which can be and is written to and reloaded during an OS update for example.

Well if the Fantom X have an "internal battery" change it i had same kinda problem with my Technics KN few times ago i changed the internal battery it worked great after that good luck

I had the same problem with my X7. The motherboard needs replaced and can only be done by a Roland service center. Mine had to be shipped to California and returned. Take your keyboard to an authorized service center.

It only cost me $130 US to be fixed.
