4GB Card is already Full???

Post by AlbertCamus »

Hi,
I recently purchased a Roland 4GB compact flash card and a pcmcia adapter for it...I wanted to be able to record more sample...however, my card; which as just a couple short samples on it, it (the memory card) claims it is "full" when I try to put another sample on it...

I have a roland fantom x7, btw....

Hi. As far as I know, the Fantom will only read the first 1GB of a flash card regardless of the size of card you have. You will only be able to store up to 1GB of samples or patches. Hope this answers your question.

A couple of short samples wouldn’t take up 1Gb. Make sure there are no samples in the Temp folder. You might actually want to reformat the card just in case. I have several 1Gb cards and so many samples on them that they take 7+ minutes to load. And they’re not even full.
