Akai , ROland sample support (please)

Yes you r right, roland should have given an host USb support or atlest AKAI cd support.

It is such an excellent machine but you cannot load akai or roland samples, such an SHAME.

I hope the next OS update will privde AKAI reading.

It is an must for every musician.

I stronly fell that all the FANTOM S/S88 owners should request or rather fight for this request.

You have everything but still got nothing ,
since Fantom S / S88 cannot read Akai or ROLAND cd roms.

Not really. I personnaly prefer my own samples. And WAV-format sampling cds are usually 2x-3x times cheaper than Akai-formatted.

However, multisamples can only be loaded in akai/roland format, not WAV. You will get bored making your own multisample from 20 WAV pieces


Well, I actually do hope that Roland will listen to us, the customers, and improve the OS. But, I also must say that you can't implement USB host support in software, if there's no corresponding hardware. This is very important.

No matter how advanced your program is, you won't make a USB host from a USB drive - there's no hardware in it that can do this magic.

But , roland can develop an software by which the akai and roland cds can be read and transferred to fantom S via USB, right.

Of course, this could be done easily.

In fact, I heard some gossips from Roland representatives about Roland corp. actually DOES plan this kind of thing.
