Rob:
Let us know how this goes for you.
Also since you are using a Fantom X6 on Windows 10 have you had success installing and using the Roland Fantom Librarian to transfer patches like the 5080-XV patches to the Fantom?
Best,

Hello Robbie:
Thank you for that update.
Did you have to do anything special to get your Windows 10 to cooperate with the old USB drivers from Roland? Like, did you have to follow any of the published tutorials about how to modify the USB ini driver?
Best,

Interesting.
So you were:
Maybe Andy Keys might be able to chime in on this one, as I have no experience with a smaller keyboard.
Keep us posted on whatever happens, please.

So you were:
- Able to FORMAT the CF card with your Fantom?
- Copy and overwrite the 2 folders on the CF Card?
- Reboot the Fantom with the CF card installed with NO errors?

I agree.
I do not know the way the differences between the 6/7/8 affect things.
Hoping that we can work to figure this out. Even if the result is that the DX7 Patch pack won't work on a X6, I would like to understand why.

That is really great to hear.
So, you were not actually loading the contents of the CF card on Fantom boot then.
Good to know for when others ask about the same thing.

Re: FREE : put a DX7 in your Fantom X!
Fantastic! Glad you've got it working, Rob.
Please could one of you share the link again or attach the zip file? Everytime I download it my laptop says it's either corrupt or empty!
*EDIT* I've managed to download a copy that opens. I'll try it out in the next few days.

Re: FREE : put a DX7 in your Fantom X!
With regards to the different models (X6, X7, X8), the only difference I'm aware of is the weighted keyboard of the X8. None of the promotional info I've seen ever suggested any other differences between the models.
In the system settings (service tech settings, not the ones on the Fantom menu button*) there is a selection where the model is set, but I assume that just affects the keyboard weighting with regards to how some Patches respond to being played. Then again, it might just change what's written on the system info screen and screen savers.
*I think this is documented in the service manual, but I'm on my phone, so can't check right now.
Hope this helps, Andy

Can you tell me if it was my post links that were giving you the issue, so I can look into it if so?

Re: FREE : put a DX7 in your Fantom X!
Wow! These are just the mut's although I wondered if I could be cheeky and ask whether the infamous DX7 bell patch is around at all?
It's not included with Andy's zip archive and I've no idea when I'll be called upon to render authentic festive bells to a live cover of
'Do They Know It's Christmas'! Cheers muchly.

Re: FREE : put a DX7 in your Fantom X!
Hi, brand new user here. When I saw this thread and downloaded the DX7 samples, I needed to join. Looks like a great resource and community!
Would it be possible for me to import these multisamples into a FANTOM 6 (essentially the same as the newer FANTOM 06)? I guess this would be a relevant question for anyone moving from an Fantom X to a FANTOM 6/7/8... I am quite new to synths, workstations, etc., so any tips on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. The WAV files sound great!
