Fantom-x as midi controller assistance

It's been awhile since i've used it as a midi controller. So i've set the roland to [midi] in system after you press menu. It works but it still generates sound. I can't seem to recall how to turn off the sound on the roland when you are using a DAW or some production software.

go to menu>system>sound>then toggle local switch off and no sound will come out
