System Upgrade or Factory Reset via Sysex or similar

Post by Pianissimo »

Hi folks

I have this Fantom X8 that loads up to the main screen and then freezes (or that looks like, i cant use any button, they dont respond, nor i cant play because no sound comes when i press the keys...)

But when i leave the Fantom ON, the screensaver comes up :S

So i want to try to upgrade the OS to the newest one but i cant access the menu because this problem...

So i have questions...

Can i..

1. Upgrade System via Sysex?
2. Do a factory reset via Sysex?
3. Upgrade the System with the PC/mac Librarian?
4. Upgrade the System with the Card BUT withouh entering the menu..? Maybe install it before booting up.. i recently upgraded a Juno Di and it was so easy, just put the .bin in the usb and turn it on.. maybe can i do something similar with the Fantom?

The updates are here: https://www.roland.co.uk/products/fantom-x8/downloads/

First, I would open the card bay and make sure any SRX cards or RAM modules are properly 'seated'. That could be causing weird things to happen.
