Am I crazy?

I initially wanted to replace my Fantom X8 with an X7 because of the size and weight but I have decided to have both so I've just bought an X7. 8 outputs, 1Gb sample RAM, 2 cards for more patches and combis, 32-track sequencer, 2 arpeggiators, twice the number of effect slots and rhythm kits, etc. I just couldn't resist. The limitation is that the synth engines are obviously identical but I do use a lot of samples and I haven't found a 2nd synth I liked within my budget; the Korg Triton Le I recently acquired is simply no match for the Fantom. Would you do it?

It sounds totally reckless and unnecessary.
I, on the other hand have FanX8 and a FanS.
Much more reasonable and much easier to explain to the accountant and wife.

Enjoy your double FanX

All the best

I actually have an X8 and an XR as part of my studio setup. An advantage to having both - a total of 10 SRX slots! Fill 'r up!

Cheers

Not crazy, at all. I recently bought an XR off ebay. I was intending to sell off my X7 (or at least retire it from gigging), but given the tiny screen on the XR I'm considering keeping both.
