Help
I had to do a factory reset because when I started the X8 up the piano and drums and other instruments would all play together. But now when I play a svq file the instruments change like brass to piano. Its doing this to all my saved files. Is there any thing in the settings menu I can change to stop it happening.
Re: Help
It sounds like you have turned on OMNI mode.
This is done with a Midi controller (CC) message. I don't think there is a menu option to do this on the FanX so you need to use MidiOx (if you have a PC) and go to View / Control Panel...
Down the bottom of the new dialog select the Controller event 124 and for each channel set Value to 0 and send.
From the manual page 301 ...
● OMNI OFF (Controller number 124) - H means hexadecimal
Status 2nd byte 3rd byte
BnH 7CH 00H
n = MIDI channel number: 0H - FH (ch.1 - 16)
* The same processing will be carried out as when All Notes Off is received.
● OMNI ON (Controller number 125)
Status 2nd byte 3rd byte
BnH 7DH 00H
n = MIDI channel number: 0H - FH (ch.1 - 16)
* The same processing will be carried out as when All Notes Off is received. OMNI ON will not be turned on.
Let me know if that was the problem.
All the best
