Question for Roland Fantom X7/X8 users?

Post by Dark Star Balla »

I want to know if I can use all 4 analog & the s/pid outs simultaneously?
Example... I'd like to route my bass patches out to 3, synths to 4, pianos to L/R stereo & strings to s/pid stereo. Has anyone had success with this or even know if it can be done?

I haven't tried but doesn't the manual state that the digital out outputs the same sound as the main stereo (i.e. 1 & 2) outs, albeit in a digital form?

I know what you meant but it won't work. If you route your piano to stereo output A, it'll come out of the digital output as well. You can't select that digital out as an output anyway, it's A (1+2), B (3+4), 1, 2, 3 or 4. The spdif out is just a copy of analogue pair A. You can't send different signals to them. Which is a shame because I too could do with more outs! :-)
