Triggering sound upon key release

Post by twaitest »

Hi,

I'm trying to have a sound re-trigger upon releasing the key on my Fantom X. Any suggestions?

A quick way is to use the 24dB LP filter on your special, previously unused, key release Tone.
The envelope depth control allows negative values so you can invert the envelope so it opens the filter on the key release (T4 & L4) part of the envelope.

If it is a key re-position type of click, you use a very quick T4 with the L4 at its max and use the tones T4 (release ) of the TVA to provide the length of 'tail' you want on the release sound.
Shut off any sound on key down....
TVF L0 L1 L2 L3 should be 0. Filter removes release sounds.
TVF L4 is the volume of the release sound.
TVF T1 T2 T3 should be as fast as possible so you can prepare the release sound even on quick notes.
TVF T4 is the attack and TVA T4 is the release of the release sound.

I should also mention that the FanX has release velocity on its keys. So you can affect the T4 values of any envelope with the T4 Sens parameter in each section. A quicker key release will shorten the T4 time.

All the best

OK. I will never be a Fantom Jedi, but, Royce, you get my vote for Yoda.
