Why not ROLAND give it to us???
I have the upgrade done years ago so not necssary.
But it would be Roland's credit to give it away!!

Come on Roland!!!

They gave me the files by e-mail, but it doesnt work, and seems to be no one figured out why in the past, so its a waste of time.

Or someone make an 1:1 image from the original CF card with the ID as well.

Wish some luck for us!

I really approciate the 2.x system if I get it somehow.

Update:
I purchased an authentic FAN-X-UP1 card off Ebay just one hour ago!!
Hope that it arrives in good shape, and I will try and upgrade my X7 that is stuck on v1.07.

Any suggestions on software to use to probe the card for serial# and whatnot?
Maybe to create a forensic image of it?

Great!!
Yes, make an image!
You can always use that on the original cartridge from Roland........
A copy to another cartridge will not work....

Update 2 :(
The card arrived filled with junk files for a G-70 arranger keyboard.
Have tried to put back the original files as per earlier in this thread, but still get "Invalid card" !!
So even if you have the correct physical card + files, there is still something missing...., perhaps formatted in a special way...

Sad day :(

The card was named "G70 CARD" when it arrived, implying that it had been reformatted on a G-70 keyboard by the seller.
So whatever made this card special was wiped out...
