Another Demo Video for Juno-Stage with lots of information

Post by JunoJohn »

Roland US has posted a new demo video. This is different from the Sonic State video discussed here.

Also, Roland US has (finally) added an info section on the synth. However, it does not look like there is any new information posted there.

Here's a screen capture from the video showing the Vocoder screen. (If you blinked, you missed it.) Note how the patch/performance number is always displayed by the LED.

I wonder if Roland will consider adding a vocoder to the Fantom-G MFX as well? That would be killer.

Random thoughts:

The "88-key stereo multi-sampled piano" is from the Fantom-X.

Edit According to this Roland US press release (PDF), the piano is from the Fantom-G Edit

Now we know what happened to the Fantom-X's piano mode, it's in the Juno-Stage.

It's got the new pitch bend mode; you can bend just the last note in a chord.
The Juno-Stage is fueled by Roland's newest sound engine
SonicCell? Fantom-G??

any machine that has sampling of external inputs and an internal sound generator has all it takes to implement a vocoder. it's just a matter of doing the math in software. the juno-g, for example, has all the hardware necessary to get it done. but i'm guessing that's not happening.
oh, well. i've been inserting a home-brewed external vocoder into the juno-g. it's a lot of fun!

Nice looking screen. Thanks JJ. Does anyone actually use a vocorder? Will look forward to the video. Hopefully someone can nail down exactly what this "latest sound engine" is exactly - Fantom G or SonicCell.
