First of all, there is NO substitute for a Hammond B3- except another Hammond B3! That said, there are a number of organ patches on the Stage that I like. For a clean, nondistorted sound, I have used Preset patches 946, 954 and 961 quite a bit. For a percussive sound, I like Pst 136. There is also a Performance 40, which replicates the distortion you find in Deep Purple songs pretty well.

The other thing that's a must (in my opinion) if you want a real hammond sound is a Leslie speaker cabinet. I've found a great, cheaper alternative in the Hughes Rotosphere, which replicates the Leslie sound quite nicely, and is MUCH better than the MFX rotating speaker effect which is built into the Stage. The Rotosphere retails for over $600, but can often be found on Ebay used for around 250, or less

Hope this helps!
