XV collection for JUNO-STAGE finally! (Sunday/Monday)

Post by wladymeer »

As I got Juno-Stage back for a while, I've decided to fix unjustice and provide Juno-Stage owners same XV collection other Junos have.

Unfortunately I can't work on it before Sunday so you'll have to wait for it a while as I have some gigs in a meantime.

What I'm 100% sure is that every sound is possible to re-create and only acoustic pianos can sound different, maybe even better as Juno Stage has more ac. piano waveforms than any other Juno (except for Gi as there is no official waveform list yet)

Stay tuned...

Hi,
I am not sure, if I understand. You created 256 new patches using wave forms from JS, the same 256 patches as in XV? So if I load them as user patches, there will 256 "new" patches in my JS? Is this XV collection different than JS patches, or only some of them? Thanks. ab

I took 1024 patches XV collection from Sonic Cell and converted them into JS format. If I'm correct, those patches are from XV-5080. I mentioned "256 patches" as that's the limit for Juno Stage at the time, but, of course, you can take any of those 1024.

And on behalf of those 1024, as I already mentioned that Juno Stage waveform list is slightly different than Sonic Cell, I've created 118 another "random" ones using parameters of Sonic Cell patches but didn't change waveforms to match and such method led into creating some interesting patches... in my opinion, some are even better than what they should be.

So lets make it short - yes, those patches has nothing similar to JS patches and are brand new. There are 20-30 patches of my own that I used live in some performances and as I don't use JS any longer, I decided to share it with the others.

Speaking of XP-60... First, I returned my JS back so no more editing for a while and second, there is no XP-60 collection available for Juno series from where I could start my work on. But I do believe that there are plenty of patches in those 1200 created to suit your needs.

Sounds great!One question :
A friend of mine owns the JS and seems a bit disappointed with the factory sounds, misses his old
XP 80 Sounds. Do the XV-Patches sound richer, smoother or generally said better than JS Factory Sounds?

thanks, tonmanns

As I'm not sure what your friend is into, I will try to answer in this way:

Does it sounds better to me? Yes.

Are there patches that should be in Juno Stage at first place? Definitely.

Does this apply to every single patch? Of course not.

Does this make JS into something different? No. IMO, LPF will still be thin and almost unusable for anything analogish, and waveforms that makes those patches are same as those that makes factory presets. So, I don't know what your friend is expecting but if he doesn't like the core of the sound I have a feeling that he won't be that much amazed. But, definetly he will get another 1024 patches to start with and there will be some that sounds fits just perfect. (In my case, that's for example, JD Multi Ld patch with a minor tweak on MFX section)

Hope this helps.
