Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Hi people,
it seems to me that someone here started to work on a converter of sonic cell files years ago. It's very strange that the project hasn't yet finished, can you please explaim me what's happened then and if I can get that software somewhere?
I really will appreciate any answer

By any chance,
have you got the Roland XV collection for Juno Stage, as well? I could buy it at a reasonable price.
Give me a private buzz, if you like.
Best regards

Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Use SonicCell's librarian (it works). Match the same waveforms.
Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Apart from piano samples SC and JS have the same waveforms (the same order as well).
Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Thank you very much AlphaC,
I have not the JS in front of me at the moment but I downloaded the SC librarian anyway and I can see all the XV collection patches. The problem is that I can't see the waveforms used in each patch and the SC editor doesn't read the librarian file.scl. Therefore my question is how do I re-create the patches and their MFX on the Juno Stage?

Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
Step by step.
1.Download and instal JunoStage driver on your PC. Switch on JS and connect JS with USB to finish instalation proces.
2.Download and instal JunoStage software on your PC (librarian and editor).
3.Set JS: MENU->SYSTEM->GENERAL->USB Driver=VENDER and save.
Does JS and editor/librarian work fine together? I assume YES.
4.Download and instal SonicCell software on your PC (only librarian). Download XV collection for SonicCell.
5.Open SonicCell librarian and set SETUP->Set Up Midi Device->INPUT=JUNO, OUTPUT=JUNO.
6.Load XV collection for SC. Copy chosen patches from "XV collection" window to "main" window and send them to JS (WRITE SELECTED).
Now apart form no.waveforms you have got everything properly loaded.
Piano waveform are different in SC i JS ROM but rest is the same and in the same order (JS waveform no = SC waveform no + 30).
7.Open JS editor.
8.Set no of user patche (JS) and click READ (JS editor). Change no of waveform by adding 30.
Good luck :)

Wow, AlphaC, you are really great!
That's the way to write a guide.
Thank you a lot

Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
I have already converted some of XV collection patches. If you do that maybe we can share our banks ?

Good idea, AlphaC!alphaC wrote:I have already converted some of XV collection patches. If you do that maybe we can share our banks ?
here's the attachment of my first group of patches, I started from 46-Full Stops to 100-Voicey Pizz, you can open it with JS librarian. It's not that much, but if somebody else want to join us in this project we can convert all the patches in a flash and with a less effort.

Re: Looking for a converter of sonic cell files to JS files
On Monday I'll send my patches chosen from all collection + a few accordions dedicated for FantomG from site:
http://www.navarin.de (I created them manually comparing parametres on both editors)

It's a long way to convert all the 1024 patches and I'll have to stop now for a few days. In the meantime, If someone want to add something, are welcome of course. Ten People could convert less than 100 patches for each and finish the work in less time and less effort than one or two people. To prevent that more than one people do the same work, please choose which patches would you like converting in the list below;
01. Clavinet (33 - 45) and Bass (137 - 173)
02. 174 - 271
03. 272 - 362

Come on JS users. It does make sense only if more people join the game

I don't see a lot of enthusiasm here, francoran wrote:Here's another bunch of converted patches in the attachment.alphaC wrote:On Monday I'll send my patches chosen from all collection + a few accordions dedicated for FantomG from site:

yet there were many asking about this file in the past. Maybe for them it is easier waiting that others do the dirty work. Ok, here I am doing the dirty work. For the next convertion I'm going to take the first one:
01. Clavinet (33 - 45) and Bass (137 - 173)
Maybe it will be ready for the end of this week
