VP-770 ensemble presets

Post by cheungaryk »

So, for those of you who have played or owns a VP-770, what do you think of the quality of the ensemble presets? For me, it's like this:

Strings - not bad, I like the chamber strings but the rest are average. Full strings doesn't sound "full" enough to my ears.
Brass - what can I say? Supernatural is pretty awesome.
(Acoustic) Guitar - not bad, actually...can't replace a real guitar, of course.
Others/Pads/synth strings - mostly average but usable.
Choir - ok, but not much options available. Mostly used to back up your vocal designer.
Jazz scats - these are pretty fun, I can use these to do some weird jazz solos.

There's a "tone" slider which allows you to control the brightness of the tone and an "attack" slider, so there are some levels of control over your sounds. Other controls include using pedals, the d-beam, assignable aftertouch, and the voice expression button.

What do you think?
