Midi and using ASIO4ALL

When I went to connect my Roland Lucina to midi using the USB connection I was dropping a lot of notes and the sound was erratic. After a lot of troubleshooting it ended up that the ASIO4ALL made everything better.

I'm curious if other Midi users also use ASIO or just straight USB and your sound card. The latency seemed to drop and now I'm getting what feels like almost realtime response from the keyboard.
