Hello, I have Magix Music Maker 16 and I'm trying yo connect my new Roland Ax-Synth to it. Everytime I'm on the MIDI record window there is no sound coming out the speakers and I tried every keys on my synth. I checked the in the settings of MMM16 and I see ''ax-synth'' selected in input. Maybe I am in the wrong option on my ax-synth? I also have a Axiom25 and I never had any problems on MMM.
Thank you for your help
Help please
Re: Help please
This may be a case of 'Read The Manual'. From page 27:
That's probably all you need to do but make sure you are sending on the correct MIDI channel:
Activating the AX-Synth’s MIDI
transmission
If you want the AX-Synth to transmit MIDI messages,
proceed as follows:
(1) Connect the AX-Synth’s MIDI OUT socket to the
MIDI IN socket of the device you wish to control.
(2) Switch on the [TX ON] button (it must light).
Note: Activating this button does not bypass the
AX-Synth’s internal sound source.
That's probably all you need to do but make sure you are sending on the correct MIDI channel:
Setting the MIDI transmit channel
The transmit (“TX”) channel can be set to match the
reception channel of the instrument you want to control.
MIDI provides sixteen channels, numbered 1~16. Even if
two MIDI devices are connected, you won’t be able to
select or play sounds on the other device unless both
devices are set to the same MIDI channel.
(1) Press and hold the [SHIFT] button.
(2) Keep holding the [SHIFT] button and press the
[TX¥ON] button.
The [TX¥ON] button flashes.
(3) Keep holding the [SHIFT] button and press a key in
the TX MIDI CHANNELS section (left side of the
keyboard) to select the desired transmit channel.
The display now shows the number of the selected
MIDI transmit channel and the [WRITE] button
flashes.
Re: Help please
I would like to use a USB cable actually, do you have any info on that?
Re: Help please
Page 31 of your manual. You did get a manual with your AX Synth, didn't you? If you AX Synth already shows up in Magix Music Maker 16 it would appear that in principle you have (had) a functioning MIDI connection (through USB).
I assume the bit about having to push the [TX ON] button to enable transmission of MIDI messages still applies even if you are going through USB. Did you try pushing it?
