DIY Roland Keytar

Post by sixfeetunder »

Want to get a keytar, but don't have the funds, or just too cheap? Or you want to get some extra life from your old Roland keyboard? Consider adding strap-locks to your existing keyboard. Since weight is important, the best options are FA-06, V-combo vr90, SH-01 Gaia, Juno DS, Juno Gi, Juno Di, Juno G, Juno D, or SH-201, since they are all 12 lbs, or less. And they are all 61 keys, or less (88 keys would just be too wide and unwieldy).

Here's an example of my 1st conversion. (apologies, its a KORG, but the technique is similar for Rolands).
