CHANGING SOUNDS LIVE

Post by Drummer42 »

I'm a new Juno Di owner. Love the board! Is it possible to change sounds without chopping off the last note of sound Im on? I want a smooth transition from one to the next. For instance, playing piano then holding down sustain pedal and switch sound to strings without chopping of piano sustain last note. Hope this is possible!?

Download and read the "Patch Remain" appendix to the Juno-Di's Owner's Manual. Once the "Patch Remain" feature is turned on, it will "supposedly" circumvent the problem you describe, but be sure to read the fine print that states that even though Patch Remain is turned on and avoids the glitch in the sound - any effects that are active on the sound at the time of switching may very well still glitch anyway, particularly if the effects for the patch being switched to are different from those of the patch being switched away from. So Patch Remain's effectiveness is to a very great extent dependent upon what effects you have active. Not only is this typical, to some extent, of all of Roland's boards that have the Patch Remain feature, but it is typical of other manufacturer's boards that have a similar feature.

If your Di's firmware is not up to 1.12 or later, you will need to download and update it in order to install the Patch Remain feature.

Good luck !

Ted
