JUNO-Di, usb connection and Linux
Hello everybody!
I'm a new and happy owner of JUNO-Di.
Connecting it with simple usb cable to a PC under Windows is quite easy...
But does someone know how to make it visible under Linux?

Re: JUNO-Di, usb connection and Linux
This isn't possible until someone comes up with a Linux driver. But I wouldn't put my bets on this.

Many thanks Artemiy for your reply!
May I get more success if purchasing such midi/usb interface as Cakewalk UM-2G?
Kresa, your ads link isn't very useful for me: my issue is related to Linux

Hi RolandClan_LCN,
I did reply to Artemiy about this link, because I'm not 100% sure if the program is necessary for you.
Just trying to be helpful.
However, I'm very glad that you know the right pathway for your issue.
Good Luck !

KRE8A, that is Windows software as I see.
RolandClan_LCN, yes, if you can get a Linux-compatible MIDI interface, you can hook up your JUNO-Di this way.

I must say Artemiy, I'm glad I'm an Apple user !
PC technology is definitely not for me.
B.T.W - No disrespect for the PC users either, respectively.

Yes, I've been through both Windows and then Linux, and can say that I wish I had switched to Mac earlier. It is 5 years since I am on OS X and I always keep forgetting that other systems actually do exist
Many people who use PCs don't even realize how huge the difference actually is, and what they're missing. It's like sitting in a BMW after a Trabant

Some people like buy a BMW computer because they don't want (they hate) to look at the engine
Some others like buy a Trabant computer because they love to know how it works
Both sides are their own advantages
I chose other side than yours but I don't mind, I will go to this site/forum often because contributors are mostly serious and answers they give are mostly relevant.
Thank you

Don't want to go much into this, but I have to, I just have to!
Not true at all.
Yes, about 8 years ago I was too so excited that I could dig into my computer's hardware, install an open-source operating system with interesting history, and later on I enjoyed recompiling the kernel to my own needs and so on.
But in the end, you realize that you've had enough of that. All you want is use your inspiration and energy in the best way you can. But you're stuck with many problems, like under-developed user interface, lack of good professional software, lack of drivers... And you can't revert to Windows because it also has an under-developed user interface, and a host of it's own issues.
Mac has gorgeous hardware, much more complex, elegant, finely engineered than any normal PC. Any geek will orgasm daily just by staring at how all that is crafted. Mac is a UNIX system so you have all those fantastic internals you can use, including the command line, virtual file systems, etc. It has an interface which everyone else is copying, and that interface is working for you, not making YOU work for it.
I have been there mate - Mac is the best computer for a live being by far, even if Apple is never perfect.
