Can anyone advise me how to replicate the step flange sound Blondie uses here (right at the start):

I have played with MFX #25, Step Flanger, so I can lock to the tempo, but I'm not getting the right airy, 'compressed' (?) sound, nor the right pitch range. I'm a novice with the FX routing, so that could be the problem. I'm also not sure what's the best source patch to start from.
And maybe the pulse to tempo effect is better accomplished outside of the FX, and then just a general phaser applied?
Thanks in advance!
