SMF on Song Player

Help please. I download an SMF onto a USB stick. Change the patches on each Part on a performance . But when I play song it plays the wrong sounds ....mainly piano

Hi,

Press 'Perform', choose number 64 'GM2 Template' with the wheel and try it again. Does this help?

thanks Frank yes that's what I tried first but the midi file just plays different patches

is the midi file in SMF 0 format (not SMF 1)?

Does the midi file contain PC (Program Change) commands?

thanks Frank - I tried putting a message in at the beginning to set GM2 and it seems to work -
