the youtube player built into iphone uses the flash video components

I don't think you're correct here, Flumpster. When iPhone appeared, there were lots of information about this and they said that YouTube actually serves MP4 video to iPhone/iPod devices. So there doesn't seem to be any trace of flash there.

Seems your right there Artemiy..

"This doesn't mean Flash video on iPhone. YouTube is encoding its content in H.264, and the iPhone will be "the first" mobile device to use those videos. That means, at launch, you won't be able to get at the entire catalog of YouTube video, but the Apple press release states that the conversion of all YouTube clips to H.264 will be complete by the fall."

I always found it odd that adobe had allowed it to use the video components when they refused the main app..

Glad I was correct, whew ;-) Anyways, once again, Adobe develops flash so how can we blame Apple? It's Adobe who should develop an ARM version for iPhone OS, the only thing Apple can do is, well, ask them to push on it ;-)

They have 2 versions for ARM already and completely made for Iphone.. Apple said years ago that if they made a third version somewhere in the middle, power wise, they would do it but are now backtracking. They want to standardize HTML5 instead. This is definately all apples doing.. ;)

Agh yes I recall them saying that flash is a CPU hog... but I think even with that being true it would not eat more than Real Racing does, and I get about 2.5-3 hours of battery life with this one.

:D

So sad that this thing is designed 10 years ago yet.
And that time BeOS does multitasking up to 8 processors.

Just a little flashback to 1999.

Look at that video and check your hardware with the latest W7 and OSX
and notice that 10 years are a long time in history...
