iOS that is powering the iPad, iPod and iPhone has the same audio/MIDI internal system as the Mac OS X. So the quality of sound can be as you like... you have 32-bit processing. If you use it properly, thing thing will sound just as good as the software synths on your PC/Mac. There are many apps that sound very, very good - clean and "professional".

BTW guys both Xenon and Argon are currently on sale. Not that they're expensive apps in the first place, but at $2.99 and $0.99 now you can't miss this chance to save a few bucks.
