I must say that this is the most amazing song arrangement experience I have ever had!
Main arrangement window: Pinch to zoom in/out, double-tap a region to see the macro edit menu: Tap and hold one region, keep tapping to select multiple regions: Press the (?) button and you can see handy help bubbles throughout: Divide your song into sections and then arrange/repeat them to your will:

My oh My...looks very cool!
Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
After Messing with this for a few hours I've come to the conclusion that it's 5 bucks for a reason... It's a bit weak in comparison to NanoStudio Or BeatMaker2.. It seems like a cool toy that you can sample phrases you record.. But the drums are weak and the main sounds are nothing to brag about... Seems to me in a month all the users of this software will be looking elsewhere... But the idea is probably the coolest thing about this app..
Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
Yes it doesn't offer the same sound creation, effects and microscope editing as NS or BM. However 1) neither of these are native for the iPad, and people like me don't like the chunky 2x pixel scaling mode, 2) the way GarageBand feels as whole is amazing. It's not so much about the end quality of the production, as the fun you have with it in the process, and how inspiring it is for musical ideas.
Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
Do you have BeatMaker 2 yet?
Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
Nope, waiting for native iPad version.

Check your PM

Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
What I'd like to know is,
can I import my own wave files, pan them and mix them easily on the fly?
If so then this is ideal for live performance backing tracks, but the panning is crucial since I'd need to pan a click track to one side and everything else to the other.
Also, the loading time between different songs would have to be real fast.
I can't seem to find this information about the app...

Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
I am not sure you can import .wav files yet, you can record them into the line in for sure.
But yes, you can pan the tracks.

Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
I'm interested in hearing something "Powered by iPad".
Pretty cool that you can publish directly to the web or easily send a mix to GB on the mac.

Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
Artemiy, what's the easiest way to get screen-shots as you did above on iPad? I hope it will be saved under "saved photos" in Photo.
Re: GarageBand on iPad: screenshots
Press the Home and Power buttons simultaneously, and a PNG screenshot will be saved in your Photos app. This works in any screen/app, same for iPhone and iPod touch too.
