Yes, I think it's interesting. But I can't figure out if this is a powerful new sound manipulation tool or a just an overblown toy.

I don't think it's a toy... I think they got something here... I'm glad they'll have an ipad version to see what it does in person.. Got a feeling it's a demo version of the PC/MAC versions... Who knows.. I will be tryin it though...

A simplified version of R-MIX called “R-MIX Tab” will be available for the Apple iPad. Use V-Remastering technology to extract audio elements from songs and easily create “minus-one” type play-along tracks from an audio file on your iPad!
I have read the internal specs and it doesn't allow audio file import/export, so it's only limited to doing minus-one processing on your iTunes library. So it's more of a practicing tool then, and not a real audio manipulation for people like me. Doesn't seem like Roland is currently interested in sound design professionals... I wish they changed their minds, as they have all the technology.

Completely agree with you Artemiy. But don't forget there's a full Mac version of it. So you still can run it ;-)
For what's best.. and worst I find this a very interesting software. We'll certainly see a lot of guys ripping of others music to make their own "re-mix". I'm looking forward to it to bring some new life to some of my old projects. I just hope it's not over.priced.

The news said it will cost around $120, which is not bad considering Melodyne Essential costs $100. But I am not sure, I think I'd rather have Melodyne since it has a graphical time/pitch editor for more advanced editing. Although Roland's VariPhase always sounded really great to my ear, very special.
