Polyphony?

Post by knolan »

While it is indicated that GAIA contains 64 Voices, how does this relate to Tones?

In particular, if three tones are activated, is 64 note polyphony still available or does this drop to one third (about 21 note polyphony?)

I also had this question. However, when playing the SH-01, with a fat 3-tone pad patch and 4 effects processors, I could not run out of the voices. So I think we should not care ;-)

You're right, but I think that maybe in extreme voice use conditions it matters...
I think knolan's question is still pertinent IMHO

Wasn't my example an "extreme voice use condition"?

Maybe not... What if we are using 5 insert effects (assuming they consume voices... Which I don't know if they do) and using access to the GM patches via MIDI at the same time ?
;-D

Don't bother, I was picking on you... Just liked to know how SH-01 works inside... ;-)
Cheers,
Paulo
