Post by kimu »

Hi all,

- can arp be programmed? or only preset are available?
- the 8 buttons of patches can be used to mute/unmute the arp steps (e.g. in korg R3 this is possibile)
- filter self-oscillates?
- is possible to records mp3/wav of what is being played directly on USB stick?
- is possible to play file (midi, mp3, wave) from USB stick?
- in VA mode, can the 3 tone be splitted over keyboards on only layered?

Regarding recording ARP's You have a Phrase recorder there. It might be better than nothing.

Another nice use for the phrase recorder I have heard, is you can even record just your manual and variable filter tweeking with it too. Then you can start playing and let the phrase recorder make some life in your music as if you manually tweeked those filters. Normally the problem is that you have to few hands to this while playing at the same time. The phrase recorder fixes that problem (to a 4 bar extent, before the pattern is repeated (I might be wrong about the 4 bar max length. I think I saw that limit somewhere)).

V-CeeOh, SRA will fire you! :-)

SH-01 filters DO self-oscillate and very nicely.

Well if it does, it does it "too" nicely cause I haven't been able to do it.
I'll check it again but if you say it does I obviously believe you.

Well, Ok, it self-oscilates.
I guess I wasn't able to get it due to the difficuty to set proper values with these knobs. Not so easy as I expected.
Still I find it hard to get a usable sine with it. I mean, with this 3 tone strucuture I rather use one of the Oscs to do it.

You need to have 100% cutoff keyfollow and cloe the filter a bit to make it work, and better have something like saw or square wave in the oscillator.

Gaia arpeggios can be edited with the below user-created program. Be careful to note the factory settings before changing them, so that you may change them back.
