Multitibral or not

Post by Catarsis »

Hi !

I'm little confused. Is Gaia multitibral or not. I mean, can I use it with DAW to play multiply tracks or can I use it just with one track only ? I mean -i can choose track one to use Gaia sound, but all other channel play GM sounds.

Hi Catarsis

The Gaia is not multitimbral. Your experience with the DAW is correct.

For your usage, you can of course record the GAIA in each of the parts, and bounce each part to disk separately, i.e. you can record part 1 as midi, bounce part 1 midi to disk, record part 2 in midi, bounce part 2 midi to disk etc. In the end you will need to reimport the audio files into your composition to have multiple parts recorded from the GAIA.

[edit] I may actually be incorrect here. The specs say part 1 is VA and parts 2-15 are PCM, which is why you may actually be hearing what sounds like GM sounds on the other 15 parts.

Hope that helps
