Well I mean that macs always have only done one task - thats why they are so good at it, and the i-pad will only perform one task, there is no multitasking on the ipad - fact. How do you propose to run all your porn - erm soft synths?

I see nothing past that because I see other things - see other thread.

Thanks Artemiy for explaining that. I do understand you are in a unique position here and hope you also understand it's not my intention to be unneccesarily harsh.

For the record, I'm quite familiar with Apple devices, my brother also took the blue pill. Albeit, he prefers to beat his drums as stress relief rather than make music so those apps I hear about from you.

Don't get me wrong, I love multitouch as much as the next person, dirty screens and all, but my notion of a dream studio admittedly seems to head in the opposite direction.

While I can even see the missing argument of portability, the iPod/Pad take this to an extreme. I might like to go camping with my keyboard, but really no way is it going on an afternoon trip to the beach. The flipside of that is that I'm still wondering about little things like where I would sit the iPod and would it slip away when I go to hit record?

dbijoux, by my posts, the examples I give, did I sound like my solution is the one and only that all musicians in the world should accept? I didn't say anything like that.

I described one of the ways I see it would be fun an productive to integrate two of these devices. But there are thousands of other ways to have fun and be productive with other types of devices.

On my iPod touch, I already made a few dozen sounds that went into commercial productions... which left all my doubts away regarding the real-world use of it in professional tasks. It's also great for me that I can do these kind of things while in a park or in a cafe - I become bored and tired if I have to work 7-8 hours a day, all year long, in the same room. Mobile devices like this one bring new kind of freshness into my creative process.

Once again, please read the first paragraph in this post. Nothing wrong with your different view on making music, I am just sharing my ideas.
