vocoder usage

Post by lea78 »

Hi There, I am new on this forum and I just purchase a Juno GI. I saw in reviews it should be possible to connect a MIC and play live using both the keyboard and the external MIC and change in real time (live) the sound of the voice of the MIC. I didn't see how to achieve that in the user guide and the vocoder section is very slim.
Could you help?
Thanks,

well lea, i will asume you are not primarly interested in the vocoder and you want to get straight down to the mic settings.
well to begin with there is the phantom power switch in the back for your your condenser mic.

and here is how to tweak your mic in real time.

1. go to the recorder screen.
2. go to effects
3. go to bank with your curser
4.rotate til you get to mic.
5 select the preset that is closest to what you want
6. get youre curser to the effects you want to tweak.

Im sorry but the vocoder is a bit of a gimmick,
if you want to get into it just roll your dial for sound selection till you find vocoder....i would tell you to buy a phantom g if you want a good vocoder, since this is a roland forum....but i will also tell you that for about 280 brand new you can get a microkorg...not the xl.
and the vocoder should suite you needs..
Im sorry i could not go more in depth with the vocoder i have never used it.
