I'm having trouble assigning a different patch to each of my 16 midi tracks!!??
Here's what i've done up to now:
-Downloaded the instrument definition and installed it (great now I can see all my juno gi presets)
-Track (1) = Drums (standard kit 1)
-Track (2) = Bass (368 fingered bass1)
-Track (3) = Piano (18 layer pop piano)
-Track (4) = Organ (137 rock organ) bla bla bla...and so on!
Now every time I add a track and assign a patch it plays the right sound but seems to change the previous track to that sound.
So now my piano and bass tracks becomes organs but are still assigned to there respected patch!!
I've tried playing around with the IN's & OUT's( wicth are assigned to JUNO GI)
I've tried changing midi chanels and nothing good came out of it
The sounds just don't seem to stay where I assigned them
Please Help!
Track and patch problem with Sonar 8.5 LE
Re: Track and patch problem with Sonar 8.5 LE
Are you disarming the first track after recording?
Re: Track and patch problem with Sonar 8.5 LE
Re-read question. You did say you're getting right sound but previous track are resorting to new patch if I understand correctly. I think it has to be a channel issue. Check system menu on Gi and click on the rx tab at bottom and make sure everything on that page is set to on.

Re: Track and patch problem with Sonar 8.5 LE
Yes and yes, but thanks anyways.
I have no problem assigning sonars soft synth and general midi sounds it's just when I use the Gi' s presets.
It's as if the Gi only had 1 midi channel at a time, so all other tracks seem to change to the last preset I have chosen (Wierd or What) How do you go about assigning different Gi presets to diferent tracks?
Lets say:
SONAR Gi # and preset names
Track 1 (ch10) = 1 : Standard 1(drums)
Track 2 (ch2) = 368 : Fingerd Bass
Track 3 (ch3) = 126 : Rock Organ 3
Track 4 (ch4) = 1 : 88KeyGrand 1
Help :s

Re: Track and patch problem with Sonar 8.5 LE
Ok, I found out what was wrong,
I assigned all my instrument definitions to (ROLAND JUNO-Gi:Tone) instead of (ROLAND JUNO-Gi:LIVESET)
Every thing works!!
Why doesn't it work for (LIVESET inst. def.) I don't know but feel free to comment ...

That's a good news.

You cannot assign livesets in sequencer. Remember there are multiple tones in the livesets. However you can record the livesets as audio. To do this you must set your Juno as input audio, and your output audio to either onboard soundcard or an external audio interface. Midi should be set to juno in and out. The reason is that everything mixes in the output from the juno gi audio interface. What I mean by that is, if you have a metronome click, that gets recorded also, and any tracks after the first will record everything playing back during record.
