Hi,
How many maximum number of splits are possible n GW 8???
Thanks in advance
GW 8 splits
Re: GW 8 splits
You are allowed ONE split point to divide the key bed into TWO zones. Many keyboards allow at least the upper zone (if not both) to also be layered with a second voice, but the GW-8 owner's manual makes no mention of this, so apparently it is not possible. It appears that you would have to choose between split or layer.

Re: GW 8 splits
GW-8 has a hidden option...
I discover it when I used an external controller (edirol).
If you have a midi controller that can send more then one channel, let's say, midi ch.: 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, when you save the performance, GW-8 saves those channels settings too.
So, if you use a midi controller to play on those channels, using program change/control change (bank select), you can use a performance with more the one tone.
it saves the tones used on those channels, including mixing, like send effects, just like a song.
Ah, for programing, much easier, use a Cubase MIDI Device Map, or other software that have the GW8 tones/patch mapping.

Re: GW 8 splits
You might want to ask this question on the Roland Clan "miscellaneous" forum. I saw a couple GW8 questions posted there:
