Sonar 8.5

Bought my Juno Gi last month and loving it!
My plan was to avoid having too much to do with computers when creating music, as I am too impatient with them...but I might need it to finalize some tracks...

Anyway, when I bought the keyboard, the lovely girl who sold it to me second hand said the software that came with it was "single use only" and that you could only install Sonar once, which is why she wasn't giving the cd with it. She said that in passing, and with generous helpings of fluttering eyelashes and the many other things I had to discuss when buying the keyboard, I did not really pay attention...
But it is true though? Do i have to pay for a full version of the software now or is there a way I could enter the keyboard number somewhere to get a version or a cheaper version of the software should I want to use it one day?

Anyone tried to install Sonar having bought a Juno Gi second hand?

I don't know, but I think I saw basic copies of sonar for sale on the website for about $50....
