JUNO Gi SELECTING FAVOURITES within a FAVOURITES BANK

Does anyone know why you have to press SELECT on the JUNO Gi to activate a favourite patch/sound.
my Juno G does not require you to do this. on the Juno G you just arrow down or up within a given bank & it automatically selects the patch/sound it would be great if there was a way of not having to press SELECT on the Gi
